I am not a trained artist. I started painting for fun, when we moved into a big house and there was too much wall space for what we owned for art. I always wanted some surf art, but I could not afford anything big. So I remembered what it was like to sit in school dreaming about waves. (I was always a prolific and passionate doodler.) My youngest son, who was in 5th grade at the time, helped me with some techniques he had learned in school. And we started painting. It became a passion. I mostly paint for myself and for friends, though I have taken a few commissioned orders - all of waves or boats.
